Lifetime results plan

The diet plan that gets you on board because it will breed fast results doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to win your fight against obesity.

Most diet programs draw you in promising quick results. "Follow this plan and lose 7 lbs in one week." "Loose that belly by Spring."

The best diet plans are no diet at all but a change in lifestyle.

Sure, I can starve myself and lose 7 lbs in a week and wear that dress to that "big" event but will that really help me be around when I'm 90? I seriously doubt it.

When you are looking for a plan to lose weight choose the ones that will help you do the following:
1. lower your food intake
2. increase exercise activity

I know this sounds difficult but it is not.

Not when you look at it as taking one tiny step at a time. The first tiny step you could start today would be to eat one less cookie tonight before bed, go for a 5 minute walk, drink one less soda, have one scoop instead of two.

You'd be surprised how far you can go when you take losing weight as "one slow step at a time" instead of "hurry up and never really get there."

Start today taking that first step and you will be "feeling fit and loving it" before you know it!

Sporadic Consistency

I've been asked how I am losing weight or keeping it off?

One of the ways I've lost and kept it off is exercise. Do I have a specific thing that I do? No.

I call it Sporadic Consistency because I don't do the same thing every day but I try to do something at least every other day. The things that I enjoy doing are as follows:

1. Walking
2. Jogging
3. Dancing
4. Zumba
5. Weight Training
6. Biking
7. Toning

I make sure I do something at least every 3 days. I'm pretty consistent with that part. I do whatever I feel like doing that particular day. I think my body has responded quite well to the consistency and the being sporadic about my choice of exercise. Try it out and I bet you'll be Feeling Fit and Loving It too!

Weight Watchers

If you are either on a diet or off a diet and you can't seem to get it together and stick to something then I've got something you may want to try. Weight Watchers. I'm not getting paid to advertise this either.

For many years now I've struggled with my weight. I've always either been on a diet or off one. There was never a time when I was just "feeling fit and loving it." I didn't know how to be okay with myself when I ate too much for dinner or had a little too much cake (3 times in one day)!

What Weight Watchers did for me was it taught me to be "okay" with myself when I had too many sweets. For those of you who haven't tried Weight Watchers I suggest you give it a try. They have a program that teaches you to still enjoy your sweets and not feel guilty about it. Before I tried Weight Watchers if I was really bad on a Saturday then the diet was off until the guilt crept in again or the scale started going up.

So, if your like I used to be and your either on or off a diet, then give it a try and tell me how it goes! I lost a whopping 65 lbs when I was on it and it taught me small steps that I continue to use to keep it off!

Just Do It

Nike has a saying....."Just Do It."

I can't tell you how many times I have been sitting on the couch knowing I need to exercise but don't feel like it. I'm sure that I'm not alone in this.

So, how do we motivate ourselves to get up off the couch and get moving? I don't know what you do but this is what I've learned to do. I start talking to myself. I start saying, "Just 15 minutes. Just give it 15 minutes and that is better than nothing. You know you'll feel better. Come on, just do it." So, I get up and tell myself that I'm just gonna go for a 15 minute slow paced walk, because that's better than nothing, right?

What happens next is next to a miracle. I get dressed in my workout clothes and head outside. My 15 minute slow paced walk turns into a fast paced walk and almost run for an hour because my ipod has these really cool songs on it and I just get in the mood! Now....do I always do an hour? No, 15 minutes is all I can do some days and when I'm done I'm "Feeling Fit and Loving It."

Now, I know some of you have small children and you are not at your leisure to just go outside and take a walk. So, here is what I suggest. Walk at Home is a DVD series that you can purchase at Wal-Mart for $10.00. The instructor does 12 minute miles. You can do 1 mile, 2 miles...all the way up to 5 miles. And you only need a small amount of space to do it. Here is the website if you want to check it out.

I love the Walk at Home series because you can just do 1 mile which is 12 minutes and I don't know anyone who doesn't have 12 minutes to spare. Plus, if it is raining or, like I said, you can't go outside, this is done in front of the t.v.

No more excuses.....So, Just Do It!

I'd love to know how you motivate yourself to exercise, please comment!

Must Read

How serious are you about getting fit?

If you are serious about it and want a very practical and realistic way to search out truth about how to do it then I have a must read for you.

The book is called "The complete idiot's guide to Fitness." Seriously!

I found this book at the local library and loved it so much that I had to have one for myself. You can get one really cheap from Ebay or Amazon. I got mine for 1 penny plus 3.99 for shipping so the total cost was $4.00. Well worth the price if you are wanting to get serious about "Feeling Fit and Loving it."

If you get this book please let me know and let me know how you like it!

Purpose and Mission

How much do you weigh?

If you can answer this, you might have an addiction. To what? The scale.

I created this blog because recently I have come to the realization that my scale has been determining how I feel about myself on a day to day basis and I'm SICK OF IT! If I'm up a couple of pounds then I'm depressed and fat. If I'm down a couple of pounds then I'm thinner and feeling great. If you can relate to what I just said then this blog is for you.

A little bit about myself: My name is Elizabeth and I'm 40. I'm a believer and lover of Jesus Christ, God and the Holy Spirit. I'm a child of God, a wife of 10 years and a mother of 2. I'm a grandmother of 1. I've been overweight, fat, thinner, obese, pregnant, and negative for most of my life when it comes to my body. I'm currently, 5'8" and I can proudly say that I'm "Feeling Fit and Loving It."

Now, I'm not going to tell you what I weigh. Why not? Because it doesn't matter what I weigh. What matters is that I'm "Feeling Fit and Loving It."

Purpose: I believe that my heavenly father has given me a gift and I want to share that gift with others. I believe that all woman want to feel fit and love themselves just the way that they are. I believe that God, our creator, loves what he made and I believe he wants us to love life. I believe that God wants us to be free from the power of the scale. I believe that God created us to love us and we should depend on him to tell us how we feel.

Mission Statement: To share the knowledge and wisdom that God has given me about the female body (out of my relationship with God) with others so that they may come to know the love of God and a new found love for themselves. So that woman will be able to say that they are "Feeling Fit and Loving it!" So that women will depend on their creator to tell them how they feel instead of a man made object called the scale.
